PSU 24 pin plug doesn't fit

It's on a corsair CX PSU, into an MSI motherboard, I know it's a common problem, there is about 2mm left that just won't go in and the clip isn't on. Tried applying lots of force, that didn't work. So we took it back to the store and they replaced it, it still doesn't fit, is it possible that it's the motherboard?

Is the 24 pin actually a 20 pin + 4 pin plug clipped to gether possibly in the wrong way round

The 20 pin should go in without excessive force and show which way it goes in
Then remove it and try 4 pin plug
Then both of them together as. 24 pin plug


Do this with motherboard out of case if easier

It's a known flaw in the way the CX series 24 pin is made , has a poor clip , once in awhile you see it in the RM series.

RMA it or buy a quality branded PSU.

It's not that it's the wrong way round, it's that it very simply, will not go in.

Look at my post above , it's not going to latch it's a flaw in the clip and a common one.

I have already RMA this one, they sent me a new one that has the same problem... But I think it very unlikely that 2 in a row are faulty?

It's a manufacturing defect as far as i'm concerned , get a XFX , Seasonic.

This question comes up on the forum a few times a week sometimes more.

2 this week already.

Only from Corsair supplies.
