Hello.
Im asking this question for a friend who is too shy to ask himself.
---
Problem Overview:
He has a motherboard Acer predator G3-605 (LGA1150) which requires a 12-pin PSU power input.
The thing is, hes replacing his PSU for a new one. I suggested the corsair CX550M or TX550M. But none of them have the 12-pin PSU power input.
Proposed Solution
I proposed the following solution found at PSU 24 pin to 12 pin adapter, does it work?
Hes nervous about buying that adapter. I found one made in china,
Adapter in Ebay
Questions
Will that adapter work fine for him? Hes not switching mobos anytime soon. So thats out of the question.
Another thing, I think the corsair TX550M comes with a 8pin (4x4) CPU power cable. However, his motherboard has a 4 pin 2x2 cpu power input. Anything to worry about that? As far as I know, You just plug half the cable in. This question was answered in http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3461775/connect-pin-cpu-power-cable-pin-cpu-power-port-motherboard.html .
Any suggestions, solutions or ideas is greatly appreciated.
The image below is a picture he sent me of his current case.
