Corsair CX 750 PSU and asus Maximus VIII ranger MOBO.

The 8pin CPU connector on the PSU cable seems to be incompatable to the one on the motherboard. Am I able to use a converter? And if so, what type?

Solution
I have had situations where the plug on a new power supply had gotten a little crushed. It messed up the alignment of the pins. Unfortunately, it is difficult to see the 8 pin plug when it is in the case. Look closely at the alignment of the pins on the plug both from the side and from the end. Maybe there is a visible alignment problem....
8 pins PCIe power connectors may look very similar to EPS12 power connectors but the pin keying on PCIe connectors is reversed, the rows are offset by one space and the spacing between rows is tighter. Why did they design two different connectors for fundamentally the same function? I have no clue. But the two are physically incompatible, make sure you got the correct cable.

Looking at the back of the cable it clearly reads "CPU" while the cables in my GPU Do read PCI-E and PCI-F. And fit fine. Like I said the only other 8 pin does read CPU on the back. And just does not want to plug into the MOBO.

Solution
Connectors appear to be In fine alignment just not the same. I've actually tried every different spare connector on the PSU to no avail. It's why I want to make sure the PSU and MOBO are fully compatible. I'm still green when it comes to PC building, sorry. If need be I have the ability to take some snapshots of both the connector on the MOBO as well as the 8 pin(s) on the PSU if that might help.
