[SOLVED] PSU 8-pin problem

I have just bought a decent GPU (MSI GeForce GTX 1660) which has an 8-pin connector. My PSU ( Seasonic S12II Bronze 620W ATX 12V) has a 6-pin connector (which easily connected to my old GPU) and an 8-pin connector which struggled mightily to even get a small snug into my new GPU connector. I backed off since there's no way it should be that hard to plug in this 8-pin connector. What am I not seeing here? Any help would be very appreciated!!!

Look for a 4+4-pin connector and plug them together in your GPU

That power supply should have a 6+2 pin to use as a 8 Pin video card connector.

If it's the older model it will have a single 6 pin and a 8 pin.

I did noticed those 4+connector but

Yes sir this is it!!!! I just don't understand what the the 8-pin connector on my PSU is use for then? I was just shy about using the 4+4 connector or 6+2 into the 8-pin GPU. Especially when I had an 8-pin ready to go! Again thanks for the fast response!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Problem solved and GPU is running like it should!!! Thanks again!

I ended up with the 6+2 connector. Thanks for the fast reply. I'll ask you what I ask Zerk. What is my 8-pin connector use for if it isn't fitting into my new 8-pin GPU? Again thanks for your help!!!!!

4+4 IS FOR THE PROCESSOR AT THE TOP LEFT OF THE BOARD. The 8 pin should split into a 4X4.
