Hi, I am completing my build for my first PC and have found I have a problem connecting my PSU to GPU. My problem is, that I am wondering how you connect your PSU to GPU, as my Corsair CXM 550W semi modular Power Supply comes with two Plce 6+2pins and one 8 pin, but my 8 pin can't seem to connect to my GPU, but my 6+2 pin does! So then I thought, well, i can connect my 6+2pin to my GPU and my other 6+2pin to my psu , but there isn't enough space to connect them! I think this 8 pin connector may be an EPS connector, so does that mean I will have to buy another 6+2pin cable? There is a 4+4pin CPU slot in which the 8pin fits, so I was wondering if I can connect that instead but don't want to blow my new PC!!!! I don't really get what you are trying to do. What graphics card is this, and in what way is there "not enough space"? The 6+2 pin connectors are the ones that should be connected to your graphics card. The other types of connectors don't fit because they supply different voltages on different cables, and if you did somehow manage to connect them to something they were not intended for, they would likely fry it.

the solid 8 pin end goes into the PSU in the port labeled PCIe and the other end of the cable with dual 6+2 pins is for your GPU. Put one of them in the GPU.

What I am trying to say is that, because they're two 6+2 in connectors for the one cable, there is not enough length to connect one to the GPU and the other to the psu.

That because you arent supposed to do that. Connect the solid 8 pin end of the same cable into the PSU instead.

But there is no 8 pin connector for the PSU. The only slots I have are; Sata and Peripheral, an extra 4+4pin CPU connector and another 6+2pin connector.

So I am supposed to connect the 8pin connecotr to the spar CPU 4+4pin slot? Because that is the only slot that will allwo this 8pin to connect to.

The 8-pin modular connector on the psu is labeled 6+2 pci-e & 4+4 cpu(it can be used for either), atleast it is on Corsairs website.

So connecting my 8pin connector to my 4+4pin spar CPU slot will be fine? Becuase the other slot states it is a 6+2pin connector, but only has 6 pins.

The 6-pin connectors are for the Peripheral(4 pin molex) and Sata cables. Is your PSU labeled different the one on pictured on Corsairs website?

No it is the exact same as the one pictured on their webiste. Does that mean it is okay to plug in? Thanks so much for your time and help btw I appreciate it.
