PSU and CPU compatibility

Hi every one, I have two Questions:
1. Do PSU that say they are compatible with Intel CPU's also compatible with AMD CPU's? Im pretty sure they are but I'm not 100% sure so I'm looking to confirm this.

2. I have a Thermaltake tr600w powering a pentium g3258... the pentium is garbage, so Im looking to upgrade to a amd fx-6300 and Im just making sure that the 600w PSU will power the hungry 6 core and will be compatible.

Yeah, it will be compatible.
Any idea on the budget for your upgrade, you may be able to get a better CPU, as the FX-6300 is showing its age now.

I'm not looking to spend much more than $200 but I might be able to go up to $250 if it's really a great deal. I'm only gonna be gaming and browsing the internet, no intense video editing or video rendering

Right now I have a MSI H81m-p33 with the pentium g3258 but Im planning on getting the MSI 760GMA-P34 and put the FX-6300.
I have 8GB of ram and a gtx 750ti

I'd pick up a used i5 that already fits in your board. Much much better than the FX 6300: http://ebay.to/2qf9RYw
Would put the rest of your money towards upgrading the GPU.
