PSU and GPU compatibility/ 8pin+6pin but it needs two 8pin connectors

i have/will have this setup:

CPU:Xeon x5460
GPU:R9 280x
Mobo:gigabyte ga-p35-ds4
RAM:4x2GB(or should i go for 2x4gb?)
HDD:Some 7.2K idk correctly...
FANS:3X120mm
PSU:here comes the problem...
calculated power usage:620+
since i am looking in advance.. i will need good psu to handle x5460 overclocked and r9 280x
the problem is that r9 280x needs 2x8pin pci-e but the psu that i want to buy has only 1x8pin(6+2) and 1x6pin.

i know its not 80+ bronze but i cant find cheap 80+bronze with two 8pin cheap in my country.

The question is: can i somehow safely acquire another 8pin connector from this PSU?
or i can get this one:

it has 2x8pin

if it was a 1 6 pin, there is a adapter, but is a 1 8 pin, that is 150 watts

better find the one you need, i have a corsair cx500, it has the two 8 pin cables, you need something like that or a evga

that superpoer psu is a garbage psu, i know because i used to buy them years ago, garbage

you need a real psu, this one is not, that is why it has that wattage and not the cables to confirm that 750watt statement, it is surely a 300 watts psu

could end burned if you use it with the build

buy a real psu with the requiremrnts you have for that hardware, if it is too expensive consider buying on amazon and see if a transport service will get it to your country in a decent price

my country customs are awfull.

But...if i find good 500w with two 8pin pcie,that isnt enough to support this system right?

i found good 620w psu with 1 6pin
and
one psu with 1x8pin...
can i use adapters somehow

yes, a good 500, 550 or 600 watts psu should run both the xeon and this gpu very well

try to find a evga gpu and avoid the sp disaster, those superpower are only fine for office pcs with no gpu and even then those psus die in 1 or 2 years, especially the fan

from http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator i tought i need about 630w+ for my build...hmm
i am afraid that with 600w will not work optimaly since i will overclock cpu(overclocking is included in this 630w)
i will try to find good psu,but what if it has one 8 and one 6 pin for pcie? what then?

it is a very power hungry gpu!

my cheap cx500 has two 6+2 power connectors so theoretically can work with that gpu, it is rate to find a psu with the configuration of that cheap superpoer you mentioned, or has 1 8 pin or 2 8 pin in the form of 6+2 connectors

the power supply calculator you listed, you haven't told us the entire list of parts of your machine, to know if the xeon will require or not the ammount of watts you mention

if the build is that power hungry, you do need the best quality psu you can find to get stable performace

that or get a less power hungry gpu, like a gtx 1060, surely will be faster and will only need 1 8 pin power cable

i am building this for my younger brother thats why i wanted to get cheap psu..
i found couple of god power supplies,but they all have 8pin + 6pin pcie(what to do about that)??

in my country is the same, i have a hard time getting the money for a rx460 4gbs here 🙁

you can go cheap on some parts like the case, less ram than desirable, smaller cpu, basic mainboard, tht sort of stuff, but a bad psu is a a problem awaiting to happen, sometimes just burns itself, other times it kills the pc too, the psu is not the part to save money from

that one looks like a perfectly viable option here, and has the pci connectors required

i think it should be enough, just don't push too hard on the overclocking efforts

unless no one else has something to say against that exact psu, it is a viable option from a decent brand
