Hello, I have a HP pavilion 500-460la and I've been thinking about upgrading my GPU (Geforce 720) with a GTX 750Ti but i dont know if my current PSU will be able to run it. I have the PSU that came with the PC (300 Watts, internal ATX) Also I wanted to know if my motherboard (Memphis-S) is compatible with my desired GPU.

Thanks for reading :)
PD: my processor is an intel i7-4790

Solution
The board will run a 750ti fine.
The psu ?? It'll do it but is right on the edge (assuming its an acbel pcb230 model)
Although if it's an fsp made unit you're fine.
[strike]It's really pushing it, you're upgrading from a card that uses around 20 watts to something that will consume over a hundred. Its an estimate but your power consumption would be in the mid 200 range, the power consumption at peak from your CPU and the new GPU together are right around 210. Something important to note that is that a power supply rarely puts out their full rated watts because of aging, after a few years it will go down by around 10%.

So yeah you're really at the edge here.[/strike]
