PSU and overclocking

I recently ordered a new PSU for my PC and I was wondering whether having a more powerful PSU would mean greater overclocking potential. I have already had my FX-4100 overclocked to 10% with full stability and I was curious as to whether it could be taken higher with extra power spare that could be provided to the CPU fan.

Unless you exceeded the power your previous PSU could reliably deliver or your previous PSU had more ripple, noise or droop than your motherboard's VRM could handle and your new PSU is at least as good on all metrics, there should be little to no difference.

An extra 100 watts should cover all OC needs, but moire importantly, the quality of the PSU.....low ripple and voltage regulation is key to a solid OC. Look for a 10.0 jonnyguru rating for serious OC's, 9.5 for moderate OCs
