PSU as an intake for airflow

I know it might sound crazy but I'm thinking of directing the exhaust of the power supply inside the case to increase intake. The Intake fan of the Psu would take air from out of the case then push it in the case. The breeze from the exhaust of the psu is a not hot at all so I think this may work. Any inputs?

Solution
How exactly will you have the GPU taking air from outside? Mount it right against the wall? Where will the motherboard go if the GPU is against a surface? That won't work especially if the CPU fan will also be against a surface whether it is the same plane or not.

When the PSU is under load, it will exhaust warmer air. This is just a fact. Leave it as intended, as an external exhaust.

Good luck with the case. Post pics FOR SURE as I am very interested.

That build will run so cool, you will have ZERO heat problems. You have no need for a weird case and honestly, it might makes temps worse. Modern cases are designed like they are for a reason.
Since you said it, I will agree, it sounds pretty crazy.
I mean, think about it. You are wanting to increase cooling by adding more air so your PC can do what....work harder.
So, PC works harder, gets hotter, PSU works harder too. Its a degenerative effect, the hotter your system gets, the hotter the air the PSU will blow into the case.
Just spend $10 and add another case fan if you need more air input.

Well we're actually trying to build a customized case, just wanted to get more air in the case. The system would likely be an i3, mini itx board 8gb ram, an entry level gpu (probably a gtx750ti, to conserve on power and heat generation). The cpu fan would take air from outside the case, same as the gpu fan. We're mounting the Mobo in a 90 degrees position so that all the exhaust will be on the top. The psu would be at the bottom most portion of the case. Still a no go?

Just thought in some crazy way it might work since right now with a normal case the psu is sucking all the air from inside the case and the slight breeze I feel from its grilled backside is still a bit cold.

The GPU fan take air from inside the case, NOT the outside.

You want the PSU as an exhaust at the bottom of the case. It pulls air from under the case, and exhausts it out the back. It has NOTHING to do with the case airflow AT ALL.

Just use a normal case. That build will not even get hot running in a sealed box.

Like what I've said were doing the case ourselves, so the gpu fans would be taking the air not from Inside the case but from the outside, much like how the psu would normally do it. I know you're just trying to help but I think you're not getting my point. In our customized case the gpu would get its air from outside the case then exhaust it at the top outside the case. The cpu would be getting it's air not from Inside the case but from outside as well (like what a said custom case) then push it to the stock heat sink then towards the motherboard (inside of the case) then an exhaust fan at the top with exhaust the air from inside the case to the outside (btw I'm also counting on the fact that hot air will rise towards the top exhaust. Right now the psu would take air from the outside thru the bottom of the case then exhaust it at the back (outside). That's actually where my idea of additional air using the psu would come from, instead of exhausting the air outside(which by the way feels cold to me) I can divert that air inside the case and add a bit more air inside the case. Then again if you're saying even in sealed box it won't heat up, then, probably I don't think I need to tweak the original design to increase the air flow.

Mobo will be in the z axis (right side of the case, mounted 90 degrees), yep, the gpu would be against the back wall, the width of the case would be about the height of the psu. I'll try to draw then post. The height of the case would be itx plus width of the psu. I know it would be much simpler to buy a new case but we wanted the experience of building one of our own. Just thought it would be a nice bonding experience
