Question PSU bootleneck?

Rig- 7 years old, tryna add a new GPU to play some games.
I3 2120, 4gb (ddr3) RAM, 500gb SSD. Mobo-H61 s2p rev2
gpu GT1030.

system boots fine without new GPU, but not past the mobo screen with GPU in.
(even keyboard doesn’t respond for boot options)

also do I need to update bios? Don’t think mine has an update as it’s from 2012.

250W should work. I used a 240W PSU with an i5 3470 and GT1030 for a while. Are you sure the cable is plugged into the gpu?

Thanks, friend fixed it for me... it was the bios
