[SOLVED] PSU Cable Compatability

Hello yall,

I recently upgraded from a Corsair RM850 to HX1000. I have a 14+10 split ATX custom cable from cablemod and was wondering if it would work if I plug it into the 18+10 female ports of the HX1000.

Do not do that, cables from one PSU are NOT guaranteed to work in another PSU.

HX1000 is made by CWT while RM850 can be made by either CWT or Chicony Power.

With different manufacturers you'd have to probe every single wire on the cable (while the PSU is running with a paperclip) to see if everything is correct, and use a molex pin tool to move wires around if they are not.
