PSU Cable Question

Hello. I am a fairly recent convert to the expensive habit of PC building and after building my first computer last year, I have been upgrading and changing it on a fairly regular basis. My Platinum fanless 520W PSU from Seasonic seems to have taken a dump and I am returning it. Given my possible future plans on upgrading to Vega 56 once prices drop enough with the new generation of Vega or Navi cards, I went ahead and bought a 750w Gold EVGA modular PSU. My question is: IS IT ALRIGHT TO USE THE SAME CABLES I ALREADY HAVE IN MY CASE TO CONNECT TO MY NEW PSU? OR SHOULD I JUST BITE THE BULLET AND SPEND THE TIME TO RECONNECT EVERYTHING WITH THE NEW CABLES. I read on another forum here that going from a stronger PSU to a weaker one is fine when keeping the same cables but going the other way is not. Also if anyone ever heard their PSU throttle/rattle a bit before dying, I would like to know. Thanks.

Solution
Mixing modular cables between PSUs can be a recipe for disasters as different manufactuers may use different connector pinouts that could result in 12V getting sent into a 3.3V line or other such. If you want to reuse modular cables, triple-check that they are wired the same with a multimeter. If you don't know for sure how to do that, then don't even dream of mixing cables between PSU models and brands.

Thanks for telling me this. I had a funny feeling about it. I'm glad I checked. I am going to spend the necessary time to disconnect everything and reconnect with the new cables. I gotta tie up and route cables all over again. But at least I wont be frying my PC.
