I recently got a PSU off my mate (Corsair cx600m) but it’s missing the pcie to 8 pin cable and the 6 pin to 15 pin sata power cables. They don’t make the cx600m anymore so is it okay to buy third party cables? Or if I buy cables for a different Corsair psu series will that be okay?

It's safe as long as it's a Corsair cable. Either type 3 or type 4 will work as the only difference is type 4 has capacitors in the cables.

Don't buy an EVGA or Seasonic or Silverstone cable expecting it to work. ;)

Yeah it's safe. Most people buy cable from third parties in order to color-code their builds.
