Hey. Just curious if a yellow maybe slightly brown stain on top of capacitor in new PSU seeing ~ 1 week of on time is normal?
A technician took a look at it and said it's "probably just burning flux" and wasn't concerned.

Someone said it could be a quality control paint marker.

The surface looks flat, no bulge. Looked like a grease stain at first glance, looks kind of thick/yellow in some spots with camera flash.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks for reading.

It did smell quite pungent first few days of use. A chemical/burnt sort of smell noticeable through all case fans -- now reduced to a chemical/plastic scent only smelled next to the PSU.

Stain was suggested to be paint marker as QC mark... But also appears to be black sharpie QC. Possibly electrolyte leak from the right side? Because of flash video stain looks more yellow, to the naked eye it seemed to have a glint of brown.

QC mark?
leak from side?

Clearer look
