Question PSU causing underperformance

hello, I have been having a huge problem with underperformance since I have built my PC about 2 months ago. I am getting about 60-70 less frames than my friend with the same components as me except the PSU. It seems like my graphics card never wants to go to high usage. I did switch out the PCIe cable for a new one and saw a small increase in frames. Another weird thing is on some games like BF5 I get the same FPS on all graphic presets, on ultra I get 90 and on low I get maybe 100. just curious to see if the power supply is the problem. thanks in advance for any help.

Did you do a fresh install of Windows?
Are all motherboard and gpu drivers up to date?
Is you RAM running at 3000mhz and in dual channel mode?

Not really sure if your PSU can cause an issue like that but the CX series isn't really considered very high end so you should probs get a TX series corsair or go with an EVGA PSU

Yes I actually did a fresh install a few days ago to see if it would fix it but nothing changed

Yea I just bought a supernova 750w from EVGA just to see if that’s the problem.

That I am aware of yes I did the graphics driver the amd driver and motherboard drivers and my ram is at 3000

What are the cpu and gpu temperatures when gaming? A program like MSIAfterburner is a good way to monitor this.

Somewhere 60-65 nothing is overheating I do use that to monitor everything

Cpu is usually in the 50’s

Gpu is around 70% cpu is almost the same maybe sometimes in the 80%

It the individual cores that matter, total cpu usage isn't that meaningful.

None of them reach 100 but they do get up into high 80’s and low 90’s

Your RAM is only running at 1500 MHz, despite appearing to by a 3200 MHz kit. You need to enable the XMP profile in the BIOS. It may be referred to as DOCP.

After you have done so, please post screenshots of CPU-Z, the Memory and SPR tabs. You can upload them to Imgur and post links here.

It’s 1500 because of DDR so it’s actually 3000, right? It says 3000 in the bios

It looks like user benchmark reports the DDR rate rather than the memory clock, so I would expect it to say 3000 MHz. What is listed for the memory clock in the Memory tab of CPU Z?
