Hi, I have a rather strange problem - my PSU whines when I start a game. I switched off my UPS and connected it to the main board to remove the noise of the UPS fans and record it as proof. I turned on my PC and launched the game again but to my surprise it wasn't whining at all. Tbh the whine isn't loud, you can't even hear it unless you glue your ear to the PSU but I'm still worried a bit, considering this is my first PC after 2 decades and I'm afraid it might spark or something.

PC SPECS
CPU - i9 13900k
CPU Cooler - GIGABYTE Aorus Waterforce x360 Liquid Cooler
GPU - GIGABYTE RTX 4090
Motherboard - GIGABYTE Z790 UD AX
PSU - EVGA 1300W GT 80+ Gold SMPS
Storage - Samsung 990 Pro 1 TB SSD + 4TB HDD

I was going to guess this was the common I have a junk UPS and it is causing issues questions

In your case you have one of the best type of UPS you can buy. Always online UPS with sine wave output.

Modern power supplies because they are so efficient, you know all those bronse, gold etc ratings, need very clean power. If you buy a cheap UPS it does not produce sine wave output the power supply can actually be damaged.

Could be there is just a very slight difference between the power the UPS is producing and what the power supply is expecting.

Get old like me and you won't even hear coil whine anymore.
