Question PSU confusion. Doesn't run.

I'm currently building a new PC and With everything done, I go to turn on the PC, it lights up for half a second then shuts back down. When I remove the CPU power wire going from the PSU to the motherboard, everything runs but I get no response on my monitors. Am I just wiring this wrong? I attached a video that shows my issue a little better than text can get across.
PSU: EVGA G3 1000WATT
Motherboard: MSI B360 Gaming plus
Processor: Intel core I7-7700k
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1070
Storage: a 2tb sshd, a 1tb HDD, and a 120GB ssd

Other info that may be useful: originally I bought a Rosewill photon 1200W For my old computer to replace a Corsair 650 watt. After the problem occurred of it not running I assumed it was a dud and returned that one for a new one. Same issue. I figured I was due for a PC upgrade anyway and got a whole new rig, tried it, no good. I again assumed it was another dud (roommate couldn't figure it out either) so I went a bought the EVGA.

please list full system specs. 1000 watts is overkill by far.

Your CPU and motherboard are incompatible.

Your CPU requires a 2 series motherboard such as B260 or Z270.
Your motherboard supports 8th and 9th gen CPUs such as 8700k or 9900k.
In my opinion you should return both and get a z370 and an 8700k or go AMD with a X570 and 3700x.

Agreed. And also, place memory in the two red slots - recommended for dual channel configuration.
