My Corsair VS550 came up with power cord with uk pins. but still using old psu cord... haven't used new one, worried that travel adapter(Multi Plug) with surge protection would not go well with Apc ups.

Solution
no problem using the old cord as long it fit (standard design)..

most cable are outsourced, the real maker usually printed on the cable..
yeah both cable are i-sheng brand. i tried with universal adapter. PC rebooted twice during inverter switchover. think it has to do with stupid surge protection trouble ups have.

now back using old cable again. its 6a 250v compared to 13a 250v (with fuse) new one has. should 6a enough with my 550 watts PSU?

well theoretically the cable was rated for 6a at 250v equal to 1500w capable cord... (660w on 110v)
if that label is true...

can you check how much the power drain from the psu.. it should be on the psu manual book..
example: mine 750w bronze capable of draining tops 900w from power lines...

edit: if more efficient psu is more lower the difference (750w vs 900w),
and the actual power used depends on your usage and rigs..

mine in normal usage tops 450w that include, monitor, speaker, pumps, etc....
according my UPS software..
