As the title reads I have a 750w bronze corsair PSU I think and it doesn't have a CPU cord. I know it works without it because I am typing this right now on the system but I am using it on my new build and my CPU is being upgraded from a fx8150 to a 7 2700x and was wondering if I needed a new PSU because of it, thanks.

of your current mobo, when you say cpu cord, i'm thinking of the 4-8 pin cable that goes in your mobo with the 24 pin cable
i mean the like 4 pin connecter at the top of the mb i have one on my build rn but it's not plugged in and works fine but i was wondering if i needed it for my new build cuz it's a more powerful cpu and i dont have that cable

any psu has that cable
moreover if it is a non modular, it should be there
i'd check the psu again, maybe you overlooked it

normally you shouldn't be able to boot without it, i guess your cpu has a low power draw
you will definitely run into problems at one point, think pc brownouts

i have a fx 8150 rn and it says it has a draw of 125w and the 7 2700x has a draw of 100~

That PSU has 2 cables for the CPU one should be 8 pin the other 4+4 pin.

If it's as old as the 8150 processor you have I would replace it anyhow.

They made 2 versions of it one was the regular made by CWT if I remember right the other a V2 made by Seasonic.
when you say "i would replace it" does that mean i should/ need to or can i still use it fro a couple more months
