PSU doesnt have enough cables to connect to MB | Threadripper | Gigabyte x399

Hi, I have just built a new workhorse renderdering system for myself.
Config is as folows:
AMD Threadripper 1950x
Gigabyte Aorus Gaming Pro Motherboard,
32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3000 MHZ RAM
480GB Kingston SSD
2TB WD Caviar Blue HDD
Geforce GTX 1050Ti 4GB (Already had this earlier so didnt get a new one)
Corsair VS650 PSU
Noctua NH-U14S

I assembled my system and did all the cable management. But when connecting the cables to my MB there were 3 ports where i have to connect the power cables to.
1x 24 Pin connector, 1x8pin connector and 1x4pin connector. I didnt check before buying but the PSU doesnt have a 4 pin connector. It only has a24pin and an 8 pin connector. so now the 4 pin socket is empty but my pc boots up properly with no issues and no LED codes either on the MOBO. Can someone please tell me if this can cause an issue and if yes what is a solution to this other than getting a new PSU?

Yeah, given the poor quality of the power supply, a new, proper PSU for this build ought to have the cables to resolve your issue. The VS series is very entry-level, mostly intended for office use and builds without a discrete GPU. That's suitable for grandma's solitaire-and-email-checking-twice-a-week PC. For a power-hungry, $600 Threadripper, this is a bit like buying a Ferrari and fitting it with second-hand brakes you found in a junkyard for $10.

Thank you guys for your input. Didnt know the VS is not that powerful. But can someone please tell if not connecting the 4 pin power connector will cause any issues?

Generally speaking, it'll hurt you with overclocking, but while that's far from a guarantee that it's never happened, I haven't yet encountered someone leaving off the extra connector with something as powerful and power-hungry as a Threadripper. Given the low quality of the power supply, it's a real no-brainer to get a quality one.

Generally, quality 750W-and-up PSUs will have the extra connector if you want it, but I'd suggest a quality PSU under any case.

Can you please point to a specific model which i should get? I don't understand the difference in the models that Corsair provides i.e. AX, CX, RMX and so on.

Corsair puts them in tiers based on efficiency. CX/VS at the bottom (the CX are better), then RMx and TXM, then AX and HX, and then AXi, HXi, and RMi.

I would avoid an CX with this configuration. They're good budget PSUs, but you have a high-end, power-hungry CPU. Something like this is what you should be looking at.

Thank you so much for your guidance.I got the PSU replaced and got a Corsair RM1000x PSU. It has all the required cables with it. Its not cheap though. But as everyone suggested Threadripper is a powerhungry horse and its better to have a reliable PSU to handle it.
