PSU doesn't support CPU?!

Hello, I Recently have built my first gaming PC. I got everything assembled and it didn't post or anything. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps I have gone "bare bones" and nothing seems to work. I looked at my PSU manual and it says it doesn't support my 8 core CPU but when I ask the company that builds the PSU they say it shouldn't matter and as long as the system doesn't draw more power than the PSU makes then it should be fine. The system doesn't need that much wattage so it should work. But, I'm still having issues it's like the MOBO isn't getting power but it is because the CPU cooler fan spins and so does everything else. So would the PSU be my problem or would it be a MOBO problem?

A PSU cannot 'not' support a CPU, all motherboards have a pin socket for the PSU.

Quick question, why on earth are you going with an FX CPU in late 2017?

They are a decent price and good.
I used to have one and had no problems.

Ryzen 3 nearly equals them on MC performance, crushes them in SC performance, and uses less than half the power. There is no argument for FX these days. R3 is also cheaper than an 8370.

On top of ALL that, R3 actually has an upgrade path.

That might be your problem OP.

When I saw recently I assumed OP had built their PC in the last few weeks.

That PSU probably crapped on you.

For a replacement I would suggest a EVGA Supernova or Corsair cx550.

Both are quality parts that actually put out rated wattages.
