Question PSU effiency is optimal at 50%load?

There is validity to the statement. Although I'd argue that peak efficiency is right around 2/3 load.

So, converting the power from the wall generates heat. As components heat up their resistance increases, requiring more power to be pulled to drive the circuit and further increasing heat production and resistance. Eventually components get too hot and either become damaged which reduces life or they fail spectacularly and sparks and fires happen. Running at the rated maximum all the time produces a LOT of heat. So, you don't want to do that. The less load on the PSU, the better it is over all for power use and heat generation.

Jeeze, here I am trying to explain things and people are posting videos and articles...
