hi, microcenter has a thermaltake psu on sae for 30.00, it says its a tr2 serires 600watt. Is this a good psu? will it run a hd7950, i'll only have a ssd for os and a hdd for storage. thanks.
The ancient Thermalfake TR2 units (with a little voltage switch on them) are overrated, inefficient, near junk. I would not expect one to reliably power a HD7950 under high load, at least not for long. Get something better.
The Thermaltake TR2 600W power supply should work fine for your setup. It may not be the best quality supply on the market, but it is a decent lower end PSU for the price.
