Hi guys, this is my first pc build, so I'm still a bit noobish, but my PSU exploded and made a cloud of smoke! Do you guys think any other components are broken too?

Solution
- Check very carefully everywhere, Take out each piece of ram and inspect it for scorch marks.
- Remove each hard drive.
- Remove your heatsink
- Remove your CPU, check for scorch marks & potential bent pins.
- Remove your PSU, check for burnt, scorched or frayed wires.
- Remove your GPU, do a quick peek around it for anything that looks funny.
- Lastly remove your motherboard and inspect both sides carefully for any scorch marks, on both the front and back of it, as well as look for any resistors/capacitors that may be bulging.
- Make sure that no standoff pins in your case would of rubbed somewhere on the back of your motherboard where there is not a hole on your board.
- make sure there are no loose screws dangling around in...
ok so i have an intel Celeron G4900, Asus H110M/M.2 micro-atx, WD 500 gb 7200rpm, no graphics card, a thermaltake 700w and 8 gb of crucial ram; I'm actually looking at the motherboard, and I don't see any damage, but a problem i was having before this happened was that my motherboard "EZ debug light" about the cpu was flashing red, and my cpu cooler was starting, but then stopped immediately. Any idea on how this may have caused this problem?

If you have a manual for your motherboard you should check and see what a red flashing light indicates. Every motherboard is different.

The fact there was a 'poof' of smoke tells me something was either hooked up incorrectly, or there was something touching where it shouldn't have.

Are you 100% certain the smoke came from your power supply, or is it possible that smoke came from somewhere else and got blown out through the outtake of your power supply?

Solution
ok so I checked everything, and every component of the motherboard seems fine, even the hard drive, but my psu is completely dead, and the wires are all burnt. I found out that my cousin was messing with my work in progress build, and cahnged the voltage so that was the cause of everything. Alredy found a replacement psu! But since we're here, can i get some advice for that light? It indicates that there is something wrong with the cpu, but I checked it twice and still doesnt work... oh and I'm on my second account so thats why I changed name
