Hi, I have PSU extension cables connected, and computer crashes while gaming. I used two sets of different extensions and both cause the issue. The PC doesn't crash without the extensions. Is this normal? I just wanted to make my PC look nicer. I don't think this is normal. Is there a way to fix this?
PC Specs:
Z97-G45 MSI Gaming
i7-4790K
16GB Ram 2400mhz
GTX 1080 FE
1TB SSD
Corsair RM-1000 (Corsair sleeved cables, plus Extension cable set)

Solution
I would test each wire of the extensions with an ohmeter pin by pin. It seems something is wrong with the extensions. There are different quality levels of the connectors. The color of the plastic is often an indicator. The difference is heat resistance of the part. I'm not an expert on this, but I know it exists.
Some of the 8 pin PCIe cables can be plugged in to 8 pin CPU outlets by mistake. Be sure you're using the right cables and the right outlets. A PSU that size will have extra CPU outlets and cables. Insatlled in the case this can be hard to see sometimes. The CPU cables will be 4+4, the PCIe willl be 6+2. They're wired quite differently at the both ends.

The cables are plugged in right outlets. It works great without the extensions. Problem appears when I add the extensions to the cables that are already correctly plugged in.
