So I just recently bought a couple new pieces due to old PC failure.
Specs :
CPU : AMD FX 8320
GPU : GTX 650
MOBO : ASrock Extreme3 R2.0
PSU : Corsair CXseries 600 watt
HDD : Seagate barracuda 2TB 7200RPM with a other windows 8 OEM liscence (I have a new windows 8 ready to install) (could the HDD be a problem?)
So when I plug install everything with the CX600, there are no POST beeps and I didn't plug the PC into a screen because i don't have the GPU with me and I only wanted to test POST to see f everything runs fine. I turn on the PC, every fans seems to be running except that there are no POST beeps. I am 100% sure that i plugged in everything correctly (8pin cpu, 24pin motherboard)
I then tried using an old 350W unbranded PSU and it got 5post beep which means processor failure, but I believe it does 5 POST due to the 350W PSU having only 4pin CPU plug, not being able to power the CPU.
I then tried resetting the CMOS, now the corsair cx600 won't start the PC anymore which is worrying me. I tried putting the unbranded 350w back in and same results, 5 POST beep, it MUST be the fact that the PSU has only 4pin for the cpu.
Now i also heard that there was a problem with motherboard where you have to update the BIOS to support the FX8320.
So let's sum this up in case you don't want to red all over again:
No POST beeps with corsair cx600
5 post beep with 350W unbranded PSU , i believe it's due to the 4pin plug not having enough power for the 8 core processor
I have tried unplugging everything leaving ONLY the PCU and 1 ram stick.
I really hope this isn't a CPU problem because it's new
