Hey all. So I'm replacing a PSU for the first time:

Mobo: ASRock H97M Pro4
RAM: Patriot 1699mhz 16g x 2
GPU: onboard
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 450w

There is one cable that is for a 4pin set and on the mobo there is only one 4pin set I can see which is for the fan (CHA FAN1). Is that the correct spot for the cable or is it just an extra that isn't needed? Tia.

Do you mean the 4 pin cable for a floppy drive:

The only connectors you should need to plug into your motherboard are the 4/8 pin CPU power connector and the 24 pin ATX connector.

As the prior response said, you may be thinking of the floppy 4 pin. If this is the case, leave it unplugged.

Also... Can you return that power supply? Thermaltake light power units are disastrously low quality.

Thank you for the info. I've almost finished the install. I did buy the cheapest PSU but it's for a very basic use pc.
