psu fan has a connector 3 pin connector - can i use a 4 pin?

The new fan i want to replace my old PSU fan with has a 4 pin connector
so can i just plugin the 4 pin into the 3 pin slot on the PSU?

also is there any difference between a Pre installed PSU fan and a normal 120 mm fan?

1 Yes, you can.

2 Well, it depends on teh specific fans. You need to make sure that the fan you put in tehre starts at teh same or lower tension.
