I ordered Corsair CS 550M psu for my new build. My cabinet is Corsair 400R. So smps is bottom mounted.

My confusion is my PSU fan is intake or exhaust?

Solution
Corsair 400R has holes on the bottom of your case. Your power supply fan should be faced towards those holes, so to the bottom. A power supply fan usually draws air inwards whilst higher air pressure will leave through the back of the power supply (back of the case).

For a bottom mounted PSU, it is usually best to flip it upside down -so that i pulls air in through the bottom and spits it out the back: this gives the PSU its own little "eco system." If you put it in with the fan facing up/inside case -it will constantly pull hot air from the case out and through itself. This can lead to a hot PSU.

Just make sure you have clearance on the floor so the PSU/case is not flush against the carpet and not getting intake -an inch or two is fine.

Although I've found that on some (cheaper) PSUs, when you have the fan drawing in from the bottom, it has to work harder to overcome the resistance of whatever intake vent is built into the case. It's true that having the intake fan pointing upward takes in "warm" air from the inside of the case, but the fan doesn't have to work hard to pull air in through the bottom of the case. Also, I don't think the air inside the case would ever be more than a few degrees above ambient.

Here i am confused.
When i just looking for installation i got the following video and in that video instructor told like strait is recommended. But i don't know cs550m straight means fan in down side or up side

My major confusion if i position like the fan in down side, how the gap. 1 inch or 2 inch. So i need to put my cabinet in any other support. Because if i put in floor, the gap is less. May be i am wrong.

Please advise

As long as there is an inch or two of clearance between the bottom of case and the carpet/floor -you are good to go. Mount it with the fan facing down, on the bottom, and the PSU will suck air in from bottom and spit it out the back (just make sure you keep the area underneath your case clean, and maybe get a dust filter) leaving it isolated from the rest of the case's air and airflow.
