Question PSU fan stopping/starting

Hi. I bought a new pc last year, but for quite a while my power supply fan has been stopping and starting. Some periods no problems, others just 5-10 sec. break between the series.

PSU: CORSAIR 550W CV SERIES™ CV-550

I imagine (hope) it's adjusted by temperature and sometimes can't figure out whether to stop or start. If so, can it be fixed any way by software settings?

sounds like you fan motor is running out of oil.
Those little squeaks at the end.
If you know what you are doing you can open and oil it .
Or you can replace the power supply fan.
Or the power supply itself. Safest and best option.

Ok, thanks a lot. Didn't know about that. Strange if that could happen to new stuff. But unfortunately I don't know how to oil it.
The psu is inside a box. Sort of integral part of the cabinet.

Still in warranty? Oiling the fan is out of the question and was a very bad suggestion.

Yes, still warranty. Before I deliver back the psu which I can't see how to get out of the cabinet, I'm hoping for a 'soft' solution.

I would get the unit replaced under warranty.

While possible to oil or even replace the fan, there is a lot of risk involved and it would most certainly void your warranty.
