Hey guys, this is my first time posting on this forum and I know this question has been asked before but I just wanted to make sure as my specs are different.
Will a 620 Seasonic M1211 be sufficient to power my system? The salesman recommended 800W . thanks in advance

CPU: Intel Core I5 4670
MOBO: ASUS H-87M-E
RAM: Kingston (4GB PC1600 8 chips)x2
HDD: WD 1TB Cavier Blue HDD
GPU: SAPPHIRE R9 280X 3GB D5 TOXIC OC

The 280X has a TDP of 250W. This model is overclocked a little, so it may reach 300W or even a little more. But certainly less than 350W. The CPU has a TDP of 84W. So that's definitely less than 450W combined. Where do you find another several hundred watts of power draw? It's ridiculous. 620W is more than plenty. A good 550W PSU would have been sufficient.

thank you for the really quick response..I was just curious about the recommended power rating for the toxic of 750W..were they just being safe?

Yeah the official recommendations are always exaggerated to leave a margin of error for really poor power supplies.

The Toxic has two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, which are rated for 150W each. The PCIe slot itself offers 75W. So it's set up to draw no more than 375W.

Edit: Hmm, wait. The M12II-620 only seems to have a 6-pin and an 8-pin connector. That could actually be a problem.

thanks for pointing that out, the corsair hx-650 has 2 8pin connectors, I may consider going for that.
