Hello, I have a 1600x oc to 4.0ghz and 1.36vcore, a 1070 evga ftw, 2 rgb strips 30cm and 1 rgb halo fan adapter for 120mm, 4 140mm fans and a 120mm fan, 4 of those fans are bionix from arctic with high speed range and the last one is from a cryorig h5 ultimate. I also have 2 monitors and a blu ray drive connected to a usb 3.0 all the time, I have 2 500gb ssd and 2 7.2k rpm hdd.

My pc is mostly a rendering and transcoding pc that is kind of a server for my house wifi with emby .So it tends to stay on about 8 hours a day.

I was thinking of a 650w gold psu, but my question is , would a 550w psu be enough ? and would it allow me to be able to upgrade to a 1080 or newer gpu and a 2700x in the future ?

That build should draw around 450w max from the wall with its current components. So a good quality 550w should be enough. But with the kind of upgrades that you have in mind for the future, a decent 650w should be a wiser purchase upfront. Ideally I should not go below Tier 2... https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/
