I've just fitted a new Radeon R7 250 graphics 1GB graphics card to my PC and went to upgrade the Power Supply Unit (PSU) with a Corsair CX600 but the CX 600 comes with a 6 pin plug to the motherboard and my motherboard has a 4 pin plug.

I've returned it to the Store, but has anyone got any suggestions as to what I should shop for, for a replacement PSU? I live in the UK.

The PC isn't necessarily switched off at night and I'm upgrading the PSU as a safety measure as I don't want it to go on fire!

Main usage is MS Office applications and Photoshop Elements 9.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks for coming back.

Yes, I've fitted a new graphics card which needs more power (than the last one) and I need a more powerful PSU.

i bought a new one but it didn't fit becuse it had a 6 pin connection to the motherboard whereas I need a 4 pin connection.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like they sell them over here (UK).

Would a XFX P1-650X-XXB9 650W work for my system?
