Hi All,

I would like to change my Sapphire HD 7770 to an R9 290.

My biggest concern atm is that i am not sure whether or not my PSU would be sufficient to run the system.

My PSU: Cooler Master 500W GX Lite RS500-ACABL3-EU

System specs:

CPU: AMD FX 8120+ CM Hyper 212 evo
MBO: Asus M5A97 R2.0 EVO
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz
HDD: Western Digital 1TB 64MB WD10EZEX
SSD: Intel 520 120GB

Would this PSU be enough or do i need to consider buying a new one? If so what would be a suitable one

Feel free to suggest any other VGA, I am on a tight budget, but can afford to spend $200

Thank you very much for the help

well..
the only cooler master that worth to buy is silent pro series..
the other, well, you can call it crapmaster..
that's psu is "okay" while you running it slow, but if you push it near the limit line, it'll be a dissaster.
Huge ripple, low voltage etc etc etc etc

yes, that 500w cooler master GX lite will not suffice to your new graphic card..

get a new PSU..

but if you insist with that psu, you'll need fast and "low power" VGA..
R9 285 will fit , or, if you can afford it, get GTX 960..
