[SOLVED] PSU for Gigabyte RTX 3080 Eagle

Hello,
next week i get a Gigabyte RTX 3080 Eagle, but i have a Corsair CS650M, is enough?

Config:
MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max
Ryzen 5 1600 (i'm waiting for the new ryzen)
HyperX Predator 16GB 2x8 3200MHz
Gigabyte RTX 3080 Eagle (previously a RTX 2070S FE)
Crucial MX500 1TB & Crucial MX500 250GB
HDD WD 1TB & HDD 3TB Toshiba P300

The 3080 pulls around 320w so that leaves 330 for the rest of the system which is enough without overclocking anything but if you are id suggest an 850w as you don't want to be right on the limit of what a psu can deliver as thats what causes reduced life ect

It's not the best PSU to use with a 3080 but you may be ok. It only has a 3 year warranty when new and yours must be 5+ years old. I'd upgrade it when you can to protect the expensive new video card.

Bought in 2017, and i have used it with a gtx 1060 until i don't have get a RTX 2070S, 1 years ago. Can survive with a 3080 or is time to change psu? Also, i risk to damage the hardware or the pc turns off automatically?

The Corsair CS650M Gold is a decent quality model. It has protective circuitry so if there's a problem it should just shutdown before any damage occurs. If you want to remove all doubt, then upgrade to a new, higher quality 750 watt model. In the USA a good model can be purchased for $100-150. Price and availability for specific brands and models will vary depending on your location if you're outside the USA. If I was buying a RTX 3080 I'd be looking for a Corsair RM750x or Seasonic Focus GX-750. There are other good models, this is just two that come to mind.

It's fine, it's a fairly good PSU for modern standards, in fact, it's almost the same thing as Corsair TX-m.

It's not a 'bad' psu.
It was a fairly budget gold rated model though and was made entirely to compete with higher end bronze models rather than top quality gold units.

My issue is that it's around 7 years d
old, that still holds relevance over the fact you've only been using it 3 or 4 years, caps still age irregardless of use.

The fact that the secondary side is filled with cheap teapo and elite caps (which back in the day were lower quality than they are now) would push me towards replacing it personally.

Brand new 3080? I'd be going for a good quality 'current' 650w gold unit at the very least, it's not that big a financial outlay for piece of mind.
