I have bought an Intel i5 760 and in the specs it says I need a 1x16 pin or 2x8 pin connector. Sadly I've had problems finding a PSU which meets my requirements. I am looking for a power supply with more than 420W. Since I am doing this as a budget project I need it to be under 40 Dollars.

Here's the specs for the CPU: https://ark.intel.com/products/48496/Intel-Core-i5-760-Processor-8M-Cache-2_80-GHz

Do I need 16 Pins or can I use less? And what budget PSU do you recomend?

Thanks in advance for any answers! 😉

Solution
There is no 16-pin connector associated with modern PCs. Either you are reading it wrong or there was a typo. Th i5-760 need no such connection.
You may be referring to the spec " PCI Express Configurations 1x16, 2x8 " listed on that link you provided. If so, that is simply referring to the PCI Express lanes the processor has available.

Bottom line: any 450W or larger ATX power supply will work. Please list your system if you need more help finding a suitable PSU.
