PSU for R9 280

Hey there,

I'm going to being picking up an AMD R9 280 soon and need to upgrade my PSU to fit her in. I saw this PSU and wondered was it going to be enough? It's an EVGA 600B PSU.

Any other PSUs could you recommend me to power up an R9 280? I also have an older Zambezi Octacore CPU, non overclocked, in the PC.

R9 280 needs a system power of 500 watts - R9 280X needs a system power of 550 watts

I suggest XFX 550 watts PSU - good quality; good value.

According to The PSU Tier List This is a tier 3 PSU. As your buying a new one I would suggest trying to get at least a tier 2.
