Question PSU fried?

Was cleaning my pc out and when I tried to plug everything back in it would not start. What normally happens is when I plug in the power cord the fans spin for a second and stop til I power on the pc but now nothing happens.

I have a old power supply to test with but it does not have 8 pin cpu cable. I plugged in the 24 pin anyway and fans ran and lights turned on.

Before I replace my PSU I wanted to make sure that was the issue. Any help would be awesome.

I5 4690k
32gb ram ddr3
Gtx 1080
2 hdd, 1 ssd
Nzxt case
Seasonic m12ii 750watt

But I tried the old psu and the mb lights up and fans spin.

Edit: remember the psu I tried that lights up the mb doesn't have 8pin cpu cable.

Issue resolved. Replaced PSU and all is well.
