I have been told that my PSU (Thermeltake LT 550w black edition ) is not that good but is it good enough to run a R9 270?

+3.3V : 24A
+12V1: 17A
+12V2: 16A
-12V : 0.4A

Hi - I 2nd anort - It will run your system. I would go ahead and use it, but I'd start saving for a better
quality unit. I had the same situation & I put off my GPU purchase until after I got my POS PSU
replaced. If you anticipate (most people do) upgrading your GPU down the road, then keep that in mind
when you select...

An R9 270 needs a recommended 450w power supply. The unit you have will probably work.

That being said it's also a very low quality unit that I personally would not use for anything. Based on the serial number it's probably a Solytech made unit and that's never a good thing. Not even 80 Plus certified.

So, should work but use at your own risk.

Right now a good quality 650 will run the current top of line single
GPU's from AMD & Nvidia, the 290/290x & 780ti. A good quality modern design 550w unit with
sufficient +12v amps will run anything below them in the current line.
