PSU help. MSI R9 270X. Please reply asap. IM SO BORED!!!

Hi guys, recently got my hands on a 2nd hand r9 270x.

Unfortunately my cougar 550w psu only ones with 1x6pin connector and the gpu required 2 6pins.

How safe would it be for me to use a x2 molex to 6pin for the 2nd 6pin slot for the gpu.
Only needs to last a month before i get a new psu.

Intel i7 4770k cpu
MSI R9 270X 2GB gpu
Sabertooth x79 mb
250gb sata
1tb hdd

Solution 1: get a good psu, I guess you don't want to
Solution 2: you can always buy a 4pin Molex to 6 pin power conector converter and problem solved

Thank you Vapour. Plan on getting a new psu within a few weeks.
Just need something to hold me over till then. Currently on a old laptop that cant run anything, dying of bordem. Just wondering how safe it would be to use a molex to 6pin with my psu for a few weeks. Would my psu be able to handle it? I have some Evga molex to 6pin adapters so they are decent quality i suppose lol.

Do you have the manual for the psu? 4 pin can supply less than 6 pin. So you add the two together and compare to r9 270x TDP, see if it covers. If not, don't try it.
