Question PSU help urgent

My motherboard has an 8pin +4pin cpu power port, and I have a 2 cpu power cables which are 8pin (PSU Side) to 4+4 pin. Can I use 1 cable with both 4 pins connected and another cable with only one 4pin connected, with the other left hanging connected to the cable?

Motherboard: MSI B450 Carbon pro ac
PSU: EVGA supernova g3 750w
