Hello all.

MY PC setup is :

MB : ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero (new)
RAM : 2x48 GB RAM DDR5 6000MHz (new)
PSU : Corsair RM1000x ( 3 months old )
SSD : Samsung 990 Pro - 6 months old (on RMA now), Samsung 980 (as replacement, 3 weeks old for now)
GPU : ASUS Prime RTX 5080 (new)
CPU Cooler : Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 AIO (new)

My problem is probably in PSU, but i cannot recognize if its PSU or something else. Problem started 3 weeks ago, when i tried something like virus check or archive something PC immediatly freeze and after hard reset, SSD is gone. After i Pc turned off, and back , SSD was again bootable & visible in bios. After 3 months with new PSU (corsair rm1000x) i think its not possible to destroy 2 SSD, but it seems like i am wrong. Same problem starts even on my new (3 weeks old, as temporally replacement for "died" 990 Pro) Samsung 980 SSD. Same scenario, and continue almost in same way.

I am afraid that PSU is going to be dead (soon? or its on way to die?) I cannot help myself, but i really suspect PSU.

How i could check it ? I have other PC, but do not have so much time to play with it on other PC. Because the problem is not always same. Scenario is, but not at exactly same time.

Temperatures are ok everywhere (MB,CPU,VRM,GPU,RAM)

Everything is legal ( windows 11, games etc ).

I tried re-plug every cable and double checked if they are 100% connected (plugged in).

Really dont know what to do.

Probable that you were handed SSD's that came from a bad batch. Might want to read through this;

Speaking of which, did you make sure you're on the latest firmware update for your SSD using Samsung's Magician App? BIOS version for your motherboard?

How i could check it ?
Use a PSU tester, like the one made by PassMark but they aren't cheap.

I have other PC, but do not have so much time to play with it on other PC.
If your PSU is the culprit suspected of nuking hardware, I wouldn't hook it up to another system.

Moved thread from Components section to Systems section.

Sorry for postingg in bad section.

My bios is latest for my MoBo (1401, 1-day old)
Firmware i have latest (on this one i am actually using Samsung 980) and it also on 990 Pro used latest firmware. I will check the reddit, but i think i try maybe OCCT for PSU test.

Maybe i am super unlucky with this one (980) and 990 Pro which is on RMA actually... But as i saw other users have similar problems with SSD or other components. Could be a PSU faulty then?

Perhaps you could use whatever utility program you prefer, (AIDA, HWiNFO, etc.) to check the levels of the 3 volt and 1.8 volt lines, since these are the ones used by m.2 devices. (I once have a problem where my computer would reboot when an HDD was stressed because the 5 volt line was more than 10 percent below spec). More than 10 percent above or below spec for any line would indicate a PSU problem.
