So i've been trying to figure out what this sound means for a little while now. Can't seem to find anything like this on the internet so i've decided to create a thread about it.

Almost every time i shut down my pc it makes a weird static sound. Im pretty sure it's my psu. Sometimes the sound is louder than other times and sometimes there is no sound at all. I've tried turning off onboard sound and there doesn't seem to be a difference.
The system runs cool and stable and i haven't had any unexplained reboots or shutdowns so far.

Sound(Pretty hard to hear): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eldbQ2vB1H4&feature=

Specs:
Mobo: Msi Krait Gaming x370
Cpu: Amd ryzen 1600
Gpu: Gigabyte Gtx 1070 g1
Psu: Corsair Rm650x
Ram: Corsair Vengeance ddr4 16gb 3200mhz
Ssd: Corsair mp500
Hdd: seagate barracuda 2tb 7200
Case: Phanteks p400s tempered glass

Is this gonna harm my system in any way? What is happening? Should i rma the psu?

I highly doubt that is the PSU. It now sounds more like your HDD terminating operations before the power goes off. An electro-static sound is very distinct, and this is what draws me to the HDD. From what i can hear, nothing sounds amiss. The only thing i can suggest, is to physically take it to a REPUTABLE local PC specialist and get them to listen to it.

Wow thanks for the fast reply!
The static sound is at the very beginning of the video. The video is just very quiet so you might have to turn up the volume a little to hear it.

Jeez, my bad! at work at the moment - multitasking is not my strong point! :sarcastic:

Well, you have a good PSU, so i would not point automatically at that. Has the PSU never done this before? Or has this been going on for some time?

Haha i understand.
I just changed the youtube link to a new video where the sound might be a little clearer.
Well the pc is about a month or so old and the sound has been there from the beginning.
