Hi everyone , I have an issue in my psu which is a corsair cx450. It's just about a year old . It makes a slight electrical buzzing noise and I can only notice it when placing my ear close to it at the rear area. My age is 17 so I dunno if I'm supposed to hear this and whether my parents can't hear it or not 😀 . Well I can only hear it when my pc is switched off ( but my psu is plugged is thought and on ). Is this normal or a common thing in psus ( this is my first rig so dunno much about components :??: ) . I would really appreciate your ideas . Thank You :wahoo:

Hi. Power supplies are not supposed to create buzzing noises. Many things can cause it, but two of the most common causes are a failing component inside the PSU or an issue with the wall outlet, possibly also in grounding. Have you tried plugging that PC into another wall outlet if you don't have it connected to a grounded UPS/power strip? Try both - and use a wall outlet that is on a different circuit in your home's breaker box than the one you are currently on.

If it still has that noise, you need to RMA it to Corsair asap being still under warranty. FYI Corsair's original CX line was notoriously poor quality. They made an upgrade last year to the line which vastly improved quality. You may have one of those units manufactured prior to that upgrade.
