Hi!

My PSU has been making grinding noises for some time now (~1wk or so). It's on and off, mostly randomly and now always at boot-up. I'm not doing anything particularly crazy on the PC, just casual gaming and surfing interwebs.

It's a Thermaltake TR2 600W. I did a bit of searching and saw hit and misses on this one. I have tried taking it out, cleaning, inspecting and re-mounting, did not really fix the issue, so I think it's just the hardware itself.

Are there any recommendations on a reliable PSU? Preferrably one within a $70 - $120 range. Thanks a lot!

By the time you hear a bearing, it's too late to repair. The only option is to replace the bearing, fan, or in your case, PSU.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I apologize for a super late reply. I remounted the PSU and it was fine for about 3 weeks but it's starting to be wonky again. I've never really messed with PSU components, so I think I'll just replace the whole thing.

My current one is terrible, so I wouldn't try to fix it. XD
