Hey folks,

So I thought I was getting a good deal of cyberpower but turns out i got ripped off. I currently have a 350W psu powering an amd fx-8320, an r7 graphics card and 8gb of ram. I was told by a few people that my build does get very power hungry and 350W might not cut it. (keep in mind cyberpower uses second hand parts despite denying it). Whenever im gaming my computer just randomly shuts down. I've also been getting errors where games crash and say theres not enough memory. Its not a restart or anything it just turns off and I have to hit the power button again to get it started. So can anyone tell me if the PSU is at fault or just point me in the right direction.

Thanks

It is impossible to tell for certain without either a spare known-good PSU to swap in and see if it solves your problem or looking at what happens on PSU outputs under various loads with an oscilloscope to see if there are any power-related issues there.

The PSU is a very likely cause if it is a low quality model and possibly reused part.

For the memory issue, check that the OS is actually reporting 8GB available and that the swapfile is enabled.

I checked the memory and all with multiple softwares even had geek squad look at it and they say its fine(but geek squad do mess up often). The OS does see the 8gb though. A friend told me if power is an issue memory can fail due to lack of power

If the memory is working fine and the swapfile is enabled, you should not magically run out of memory. Maybe you have malware or a broken application leaking memory. Use resource monitor, task manager or process explorer to keep an eye on available memory to see if you can find what is tying it up.
