Question PSU not turning ON while connecting to motherboard

Hi,
I have a desktop having Zebronics ZX-H81 motherboard, i3 processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM. The issue is the SMPS is not turning on while connecting to motherboard. I have tried to turn on the mother board directly short the power button pins, but its not working. Also I separately checked the SMPS by shorting the green and black wires, SMPS is working fine and all voltages are good. I have checked by removing RAM and CMOS battery also. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Note: There is no inbuilt power LED in the motherboard

Your PSU may not have enough power to boot up your PC. If you can list your PC full specs, it will help us to find out your problem.

Probably a dead motherboard. Doesn't look like it is very high end. You can pick up something like an H87 board for $50 USD or so.


You've checked the open circuit voltages of the PSU? That is okay, but is not definitive of a working power supply.

Have you measured the voltages while the PSU is hooked up to the motherboard and you attempt to start it?
