PSU Paperclip Test Question

I'm trying to figure out why a friend's pc won't turn on, and I'd like to do the paperclip test on the psu to see if the psu is faulty. My question is this. Do I have to unplug ALL connections from the PSU to the mobo and such, or do I only need to unplug the 24 pin connection to run the test? I really don't want to unplug everything if I can avoid doing so, but I will if I must.

Solution

The paperclip test does not test the actual functionality of the PSU.
It simply shows that it is mostly getting voltage.

Like with a car. Just because the dashboard lights come on when you turn the key does not mean the thing actually works right.

And yes, to do that, you need to unplug everything.
