Question PSU power cables don't match the motherboard ?

I have MSI pro B650m-a wifi and my power supply Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 650W 80+ Gold. My CPU atx slot has 8 female pins then another 4 pins next to it. I cant figure what fits where? I used pc partpicker and it said they were compatible.

Your PSU only comes with 1x 4+4pin EPS connector.

In your current state, you should populate the 8pin EPS connector on the motherboard. I would actually suggest that you return the PSU and get the 850W variant if you want to populate the other EPS connectorbut I'm curious to learn what your PCPartPicker list/build is now.

Is that my only option? Can't I get an adapter thats way more power than I even need.

If you're getting adapters at the start of your new build, you've got the wrong components for said build. You didn't pass along your PCPartPicker build though.

Weird how TT supplies 4 pcie 6+2 pin cables where there's only 2 practical outlets and limits cpu cable to 1.

Additional 4pin for cpu isn't necessary in most cases other than for extreme overclocking endeavours. Afaik.
